what is the most efficient, professional way to handle multiple job offers/opportunities?

I have a large dilema...I have 3 jobs lined up and I go to school full time, and I don't know how to handle them... Job 1) 50 miles away from my house...I sought this job because my boyfriend was working in the area and we could carpool. We are not together anymore and I am kind of dreading the commute. Also, this is the only job that has formally been offered to me (it is 7-5) I want to take it, then quit?!?! I used to work for this company and my previous bosses are giving me recommendations Job 2) the job I really want is serving/cocktailing at a local Italian restaurant/night club. The owner informed me that a past employee got the current position but he will have another one open in 10 days and I'm on his A list. Job #1's time frame would interfere with the start time for this job Job #3) I am going for an interview as a nanny later in the week, I dont know what to tell them, at first i told them I had a fully open schedulle, but now?!?! Thanks!!

  1. I would suggest that you not take job #1, unless you move to the area, which would mean that you REALLY want the job. I would guess that the commute is too long for the type of work you are up for. I would go to the nanny interview and find what they have to say. If you were to be offered the nanny job, tell them to give you a day to think about it. During this day, call the Italian place and find out where they are with the waitress job. If they are still up in the air about it, take the nanny job and/or tell them that you want the job but have another firm job offer. If that doesn't make them make their move, take the nanny job.
