How can I get more local babysitting jobs?

I babysit for one great family already but i would like more money coming in so i can get a laptop! Let me know! I love children and if its a good family i am up for the job. Money really doesn't matter but feeling important and trusted and a great entertainer is the kind of job I am looking for. Let me know all your ideas! Thanks all comments will be read, I hope!! 1. Make up fliers and put them in your local grocery,laundry mat, car wash etc. most public places have bulletin boards that people can post things. Also I'm sure the people who you currently sit for can recommend you to other families let them know that you are interested in other sitting jobs and if they know anyone who needs a sitter. 2. Networking works well. Write up a little one page advertisement of sorts. A few paragraphs about yourself and your good qualities - give references (ask first) - then hand them out to your neighbors and ask them if they know anyone looking for a babysitter. Your local grocery or hardware store may have a bulletin board - put a copy up there too. A good babysitter is often hard to find - so put yourself out there and you will probably have more jobs than you can handle. Good luck!!
3. As a mom, I don't usually find my babysitters from a flyer. I am more likely to call someone that one of my friends has recommended. I'd start with the family that you are already babysitting for and ask them if they know of any other families that need babysitting.
4. Consider completing the Babysitter's Training course offered by the Red Cross. Not only will you improve your babysitting skills, you will be prepared in the event of an emergency. Also, I think parents would be inclined to trust you more than other sitters who did not complete such training.
5. Here are some of my suggestions: Anywhere there is a bulletin board, such as a groccery store or doctors office, put up a flyer. Give flyers to parents you know with kids, tell everyone you know your are a babysitter. Word of mouth is the best. Ask you parents to help you advertise. You could also try craigslist, just be careful. Let people know if you go to church or temple. Go to the park or a public pool and advertise. If you need anymore help, feel free to email me.
