Why is it so hard for Veterans to find jobs?
I have been out of the Army for six months and received an honorable discharge. I was an E-5 and ran my own S-1(Personnel) section. My resume is fantastic (as I've been told). Why is it so hard for vets to find jobs? I know I am not the only one. I am just so frustrated, everyone has a "Support our Troops" bumber sticker on their car, but when it comes to actually helping one everyone turns their back.

- weird. i thought vets, were old
- Well - join the outside now.... we're all in that position. That's why a lot of people go back in the service. It's hard for everyone to find work. Just as something to think about - go to your State Employment office because the State agencies or Civil Service (and Post Office) give preferance to veterans. I don't even try for the Post Office because I know it's almost impossible without having performed some service duty.
- You might try your VA rep and many towns have a veterans office that can assist you. Believe me you are not the only one. I retired E6, was an instructor, 27 year mechanic, and have tons of job skills and have a hard time.
