What college should I choose?
So, I have been trying to apply for college lately, I don't know which one to choose. I got three on my mind, (though I already scratched one out, it could be my last resort) So far, I have considered DeVry University to be on the TOP of my list, then I'm still looking at Texas A&M Prairie View, and University of Houston Downtown is my last choice, if nothing else works out. I really like DeVry University, I liked the environment right when I walked into the front door of the University, it just feels great! But a problem is that it IS kinda expensive, A&M Prairie View, on the other hand seems a little less expensive, and easier to get into, but as far as I'm concerned, these are the only three good universities I can think of which offer Criminal Justice as a Major. and I also like how DeVry has smaller classes and promises to give more hands on experience, and offers free tutoring for any subject/class I want, job listings always available. Please help me figure it out! thank you :)

- Less expensive is the way to go. Get in, get out, get a job.
- Good go to DEvry and rack up loans for a useless degree that is not accredited. I am not stopping you ... It is your choice. Devry is a for -profit insitute ... That is NOT regionally accredited .. So it is useless .. and employers joke about it .. along with phoenix / Everest / full sail .. and every company that decided to open up a business and call it a college. NOT ACCREDITED = USELESS PIECE OF JUNK .. try transferring or going for grad school .. No one will accept you .. not even community colleges will accept their classes.
- I'd wipe off DeVry. Go to a real college where the faculty actually care, and not those money hungry perpetrators such as DeVry, Virginia College, etc.
- I would go to a REAL four year university. DeVry is extremely expensive and you would save more money and still get a good education while attending a State university. However I have found that sometimes it my be better to do a few years at a community college and then transfer to cut down on cost. However no matter what FILL YOUR FAFSA OUT EARLY!!!!!!! IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE! Also apply early, the more time you have the better. Apply to as many schools as possible, keep your options open! College is there for you not the other way around! However I would choose Texas A&M Prairie View, and if you can help it stay off campus it saves a LOT of money!
- I would go to A&M, I go to DeVry right now (one year left) and they said my degree would be something around 60 grand but its actually around 65-68, which is about the same amount for a normal college I think? I have received financial aid but I've never seen it come into account when it comes to school, they just pocket it I suppose. The graduation rate at DeVry is 33% and my classes that concentrate on my major is not even offered at the school so, not much hands on here. Other than the cost and how none of my classes are on campus you only have 4 weeks off during the year. One for spring break, one for summer and two for winter. I can go on and on... The only good thing about the school is that you can graduate in 3 years, the classes are 8 weeks long, small classes, job fairs...and that's about it. I hope this helps, good luck.
