- All online jobs are a scam and any sites asking you to pay to join to make money are scams. However it is possible to make money online without spending any money. It won't make you rich and it is not a job, but generally the more you do online and the more time you spend online the more you can make. The main way many people make money online is through their own website or webpages. Of course, if you've no clue how to make a website that is not the best option, but there are still other options based on that. The first is to sell online. Ebay is one option. The other is to use a site where you can get paid for writing content such as articles or reviews. One great site for this is Squidoo which is really easy to use. Check out my links below for help on ebay and Squidoo. Help on ebay: http://www.squidoo.com/ebay-site Getting started on Squidoo: http://www.squidoo.com/writing-a-lens The next option is to write reviews online. For this Ciao and Dooyoo are very useful sites. You can write one review, place it on both sites and get paid for it. You can write reviews on pretty much anything you can think of; DVDs, games, music, clothes, websites, shops and more. For more info: http://www.squidoo.com/ciaosite and http://www.squidoo.com/dooyoosite Another good way to make a bit of extra cash is through surveys. The surveys are free to do and range from watching a short video clip, to registering on a site, to completing a survey on a certain topic. There are plenty of easy surveys to do that don't require giving out a lot of personal details (if that's something that worries you). For more info: http://www.squidoo.com/points2shop-cashle-site My proof that it works: http://www.squidoo.com/points2shop-proof-page As well as surveys there is also another site that gives you cash (or items) simply for using their google powered search engine. You can also play games, watch videos and complete the dailies (e.g. answering a poll) and get paid for it. For more info: http://www.squidoo.com/swagbucks-site All these sites are 100% free to join and use! Some even give you a bonus just for joining. How they work is by advertisers paying them for advertising their product/services and the sites all give a percentage of that money to you. There are of course many other websites; some good and some scams. So to make sure you don't get scammed check out the this site, http://www.squidoo.com/avoid-the-scams.
- Don't waste your time with surveys -- they don't pay There are kids on the Web who are making money for themselves, with the help of the parents (parents have to open the accounts the kids need -- hosting, advertising, etc) Hannah Altman, a 10 year old started a website selling pencil toppers, and making good money http://www.womenhomebusiness.com/success/hannah-altman-10-year-old-ceo-success.htm. Ashley Qualls is another example who rode the coattails of MySpace and earned for herself a huge pile of cash http://www.womenhomebusiness.com/blog/ashley-qualls-17-year-old-success-story.htm Here are the main ways you can earn money from the Internet: 1. Sell products on the Web - You can either sell: (a) through your own storefront through your own website or applications such as Yahoo Stores; or (b) sell through online auctions like eBay http://www.ebay.com http://www.amazon.com 2. Information Delivery. Others such as About.com create content and monetize their content in a number of ways: a. Advertising - there are several ways you can earn money from advertising: 1. Join an advertising network. Advertising networks are organizations that aggregate Web sites that offer advertising space, and sell banner ads (and other advertising options) across them. Traffic requirement is often a minimum of 5,000 monthly impressions, although many do not accept sites hosted by free page services. Burst Media http://www.burstmedia.com ValueClick http://www.valueclickmedia.com 2. Participate in contextual advertising networks. Contextual advertising are text ads delivered based on the content of the web page using an automated system. Google Adsense https://www.google.com/adsense/ Kontera http://www.kontera.com Chitika http://www.chitika.com Bidvertiser http://www.bidvertiser.com/ 3. Sell advertising for your site directly. This is admittedly a more difficult route for a small business site wanting to earn advertising revenues. But hey, as they say: "no pain, no gain!" b. Affiliate Programs - you sell other people's products that your audience may be interested in; and you get a certain commission after the desired action was done (whether a sale, a lead, subscription to email newsletter, or however this is defined) Paid online content. Hoovers.com or WebmasterWorld.com Supporters forum all require paid subscription before accessing the information
- Any legitimate online jobs would have been taken by out of work older adults, trying to support families during this recession. This also applies of most other jobs normally done by younger folks. This is limiting the options for finding ways to earn money. Why not consider starting a “Green Friendly” business that can be done using a bicycle with a few tools. My sister did this while going to college and found it paid far better than what she would have made with her degree. Here is an article that was written about it. Due to the limit on the number of characters you can put into these answer boxes, and of course copyright issues, I cannot simply copy it into here.
