Sell rights to marijuana in California or Colorado?

I am considering moving soon. I heard that there were some counties that you could legally sell your rights to grow cannabis plants. Is this true and in what counties/areas is that possible (if at all). Any additional details would be amazing; I don't smoke but I think this would be a wonderful way to subsidize my housing. Thanks!

1. You can.. butt it's illegal federally. State might allow it butt federal goverment doesnt.
