Relocating from Vermont to Maine . . . do we find jobs first or find an apartment first?

My boyfriend works in Construction and I'm a Vet Tech, if it matters.

1. JOBS then you know where to live then you might be qualified to rent an apartment
2. Well, that's hard. You want to be near your job. but it depends on what kind of job you want. If you are only qualified to work at McDonalds, you can find the apt first. But if you are a higher level, you may want to find a job first.
3. It depends on how much you have in savings. If you don't have much I would start filling out applications as soon as possible. What happens if it takes you up to 6 months to find a job? In this economy finding a job is harder than finding an apartment.
