Will my Colorado license work in California?

I'm 16, and I have had my licence for 6 months. So according to Colorado's laws, I can drive with one person who's 21 or younger, but I'm taking a trip to California. What are the rules then, can I use Colorado's laws, or what?

  1. you can drive in any state as long as you follow the laws. Traffic laws are pretty standard everywhere so you cannot do anything in calif that you cannot do where you live. If you get pulled over you show your license, if you get a ticket it will count in your home state. colorado allows people from california to drive in colorado, so the reverse is true, you can drive in california with no problems. If you get a job, or go to school for more than 30 days, you are supposed to get california ID. The police are taking a harder line on people from other states driving out of state cars, mainly its a revenue game now.
  2. You have to observe all rules and restrictions on your licence, PLUS the rules and restrictions that would apply to the equivalent licence in California.
