Is it really IMPOSSIBLE to get a job as a foreigner in Canada?
I am a software engineer from Nicaragua, always wanted to immigrate to Canada, But everyday it just seems like a lost cause or aspiration, My only option is to have a job offer and get a work permit, but getting a job in Canada from outside of Canada just seem so impossible, I searched on monster.ca, and SE if one of the most on demand usually 200 + where as Architects have like 90, but still architects are on the NOC, but IT profesions arent. I just want somebody to tell me how impossible it is, I know that most of the jobs offers come from networking so I have been trying to make some Canadian Friends online, but I fing that kind of creepy, really the only option I have is to send an applications to every Employer from monster.ca, I dont know can someone please advice me, should I just let go this dream?

- There is a world wide recession ... there are just not the jobs available the last few years my wife, my BIL and a few friends have all been unemployed for over 2 years with nothing coming up ..... this is the US .but it the same everywhere if you have a job in your own country ...keep it and gain the experience
- No-one in Canada can hire you unless you have a visa, or if there is no-one in Canada already who could take that job. Have you applied for immigration?
- There is a world wide recession. And there is currently HIGH unemployment in Canada. Plenty of Canadian citizens and residents to take the jobs. They get first priority. There is also NO demand for foreign IT workers. And the Canadian government will only issue work permits and immigration vias for skilled professionals who have jobs in demand. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who-instructions.asp#list Ths is the list of jobs in demand. If your job is NOT on this list, then you currently are not eligible to immigrate. This list was updated in june last yer and it was not updated for several years before that so I dont expect things to change for at least another year if not more.
