How can I make money (safely) online?

For the past few days, I have been doing research on how someone can make money online. I'm looking for safe websites or safe jobs that I can do for real and trust-worthy companies. I found an article on a website that had mentioned three of the safest ways. Two of the three included advertising for business and being a free lancer. I don't know much about business advertisement. On the same token, I don't know much about being a free lancer either. I have joined two free lancer websites and I wasn't chosen for any jobs. I also joined a website named Helium. I feel that I am capable of writing articles, and making professional looking Power Points. There are somethings that I know how to do on the Computer and on Social Networking websites, but not what people ask for. As I have said, I have been doing research on this for the past few days and I'm looking for trust-worthy and safe companies/websites that I could work with to make a few bucks here and there. Some of the job listings I saw do pay well, however, I don't have enough skills for them just yet. I'd love to be able to make my own website and have something that people would want to pay for, but I'm not that advanced with HTML or Java Script, etc. I have basic knowledge with it but no where close to where I'd like and not enough to make a good website. Well, I'm basically looking for suggestions. I like to write, make Power Points, and do things on the Computer. I really wish I was a developer, but I'm going to College for Information Systems- it will touch on some development but not as much as I'd like. (I'm not good in math, so I'm not going for that right now). Every answer is considered. If you leave anything random or has nothing to do with the topic I will report your answer and it will be removed. Thanks in advanced! 1. Unless you have very specific skills, such as graphic design, web design, computer programming or sell on eBay, there are no real internet work at home jobs. On line jobs are just another urban myth. You will just be bombarded with all kinds of work at home scams such as envelope stuffing, data entry, home assembly, medical transcription, reading e mails, surveys, etc.
2. In order to make money online, you have many possibilities. You can write articles on Helium as you said, or other sites like helium, you can start your own site and earn money with Google Adsense or you can take paid surveys. You can also search some freelancing sites and there you can find projects related to what you're learning at the college. It's not easy to get a project, but once you get one, the second will be easier to get. But as I said, paid surveys would be a good start in earning money online. Just make a little research, find some survey sites and get started.
3. Freelance work is a good way to start, and there are several serious freelance sites that work pretty well. There are many forms of writing work you can do, the demand is quite high for that. And although you might not get payed much to start with, you can build a good reputation and start to get more work. You can develop skills in order to get better paid jobs.
