Should I be a PA? What is it like to be a physician assistant?
I'm having a hard time deciding on what to major in and what career I want to have. I was skimming through some local job listings and I saw one for a PA and I never heard of it before, so I looked it up and it sounds like a pretty good job, but I'm not entirely sure what its all about. After reading about it I kinda want to be a PA working in pediatrics. I'm just wondering, first of all how I would go about getting licensed, and what kinds of things I should expect to be doing on a daily basis while at work if I do go into this field of work, even if I'm not in assisting in pediatrics. Oh and I wanna know what types of people are good at this line of work...

- Your job is to treat patient, diagnose disease, write prescription, and others but under supervision of a physician. You need to complete classes like general chemistry, biology, organic chemistry, psychology, physiology, anatomy, etc(this will depend on the school you are applying to). before you can get into the program. On top of this, you might need to take a standardized test called GRE or even MCAT. Look up each school's requirement.
- As a PA you'll basically be doing what the doctor does, but under his/ her supervision. That's why he/she will get the big bucks. You'll need a bachelor degree, then 4 years experience in the healthcare field as a nurse or a paramedic, then a 26 month training program before you take and pass the PANCE exam to be certified. The average PA salary varies depending on where you work - doctor office, clinic, hospital, but it ranges from $85,000-$115,000. Very often now days people actually see a PA when they go to the doctors office and if they haven't been there before they don't even realize they are being seen by a PA instead of a doctor.
