What are some different jobs that emergency medical technicians/ paramedics can do?

Are there different kinds of jobs that they can do instead of being in an ambulance? Or for example something as wild as being an emt for a search and rescue unit?

1. Wilderness EMTs have extra training and work with SAR and in remote locations. In some areas they work in emergency rooms as technicians along with the nursing staff. I honestly can't imagine not wanting to be on the ambulance. Running emergency calls is the best part of the job.
