ADVICE PLEASE!! I always wanted to join the army but now i believe in God my conscience wont let me?

Iv always wanted to join the army, im from northern ireland and was going to join the british forces. Either royal marine commandos or the parachute regiment. Now i believe in God i cant do it anymore. My conscience could not let me kill someone. This here mentally was a big drop in my life. I almost have half the life in me which i did before. I need a job of adventure and life threatening (im not suicidal in anyway). I dont want to be in the police, the fire brigade or emergency hospital type jobs. I would love to be in a search and rescue team for soldiers but isnt that still the same as what i dont want to do? To be part of an elite team is what i want but any suggestions on any careers or jobs please. This has been killing me for a long time. And im 22.........Thanks for comments Bj n........... your the one who sounds like a dick, you dont even know anything about me, and so your saying if you dont get a job killing someone, u should work at a supermarket, looks like the military got to your brains, DICK

1. Why won't God let u join the Army? Just cuz u join the army does not mean u r gonna kill someone, kinda silly.
2. I would say read the bible that is were ur answer is At and remember to do everything according to whatever god has for you. There's also has to be other jobs were u r in adventure and don't have to kill no one.
3. More people have been killed in the name of God over the history of humanity than for any other reason. The people you will be "killing" are militant-Islam, radicals who abuse their religion to excuse murder and extortion and general abuse of the population that they hail from. You are the 'good' guy here. Stay true to your morals and faith; take the high road always, and your war will be a just war.
4. Well first off you always put Marines with Capital M. Second you sound like a bitch so you would not make it through the British Royal Marines training. Why would you want to be a Marine if your not wanting to kill. This is what Marines either British, American, or what ever county. If you are not looking to kill anyone get a got at your local supermarket. If your not willing to kill someone regardless of your religious beliefs the British Royal Marines is not the place for you. I have served and trained with the British Royal Marines and their training is hard and they are not put in nice and cosy missions. Marines are put in situations where people ( hostile or otherwise) do what we say or we detain or kill them. Marines are trained to kill and that is what we do. Specialized forces like the others you are talking about kill more often than not. They are put into hostile areas in small numbers and get engaged far more often. If you are not going to kill someone who would love to capture you and decapitate you and your squad, you are of no use to your squad. If you are not willing to kill stay out of the military. The military many not be the best choice for you. If you still want to serve your country try an intelligence job or something of that nature. Not trying to be a ass hole but I have had to weed out my share of Marines who have been in the same situation. If I can not trust them to watch my back they are worthless. If you were in my position and have experienced the things I have in my career as a United States Marine you would understand. Alexander if you would have read the question he wants to be part of an elite unit. These are special forces as you might know and are put into hostile situations of which never turn into a full scale war or conflict. You should know this from your military experience. They are snatch and grabs where you might not just only kill someone but have to do it hand to hand, or have to kill a sentry with a knife to compete your mission. Lastly Marine is always capitalized as it is A PROPER NOUN you should look up noun... hmm person, place or thing.. hmm Marines is an organization. The Army would not understand with your stress card in your boot camp.If you would have earned a title you would understand. The Army still does understand that it is not about an individual but the whole of the unit. That is one of the secrets of why Marines are the best.
5. God isn't real. You should enlist while you're still a strong young man.
6. The Bible prohibits murder. Killing is a far different concept. Don't confuse the two. Pay attention to your orders, consider them carefully (but quickly if time is an issue), and listen to your conscience.
7. I'm not religious, but I recognize that religious people have no problem in the military. Only one profession is extolled in the Bible as being virtuous and that is the profession of arms. Read Psalms 144. And check your attitude even with idiots.
8. They have a job in there for ministers they travle with the army have the same risk but do not kill also help easy any soldiers in heart and mind about the same things u fear or feel guilt about.there are also mechanics and cooks.

10. Have you considered Her Majesty's Coast Guard? Doing search and rescue in stormy seas is about as dangerous as you can get with the likelihood of you being called on to hurt someone very slim. I've known a lot of very religious people who serve in the military, but that's between you and God. Don't let people give you crap over it.
11. 1: Bj N is a tool if he's that worried about what you capitalize, even though "marines" isn't a proper noun and therefore not capitalized. Also he's an idiot if he seriously thinks that marine cooks go out and kill people 2: the bible is full of killing 3: there's plenty of jobs that will never kill a person 4: so if someone was trying to kill you your god wouldn't want you to kill them in self defense? I'm glad I'm an athiest if that's the case
