Search and Rescue Technician?

Hello. I recently came across this job and it seems extremely appealing to me. i would expect it to be extremely competitive, but what is it really like? if you have any experience in search and rescue, i would appreciate your input. i am also a lifeguard, would that increase my chances with this career?

1. Lifeguard hahahahahahahhaha, maybe a beach certification. If this is about the Navy, they don't see too many rescues, either does the USAF, and I have no idea about the coast guard. Jobs difficult to get into, selection is very hard and if you have a single doubt about the water I wouldn't even try. They swim miles in gear daily, do drown proofing, learn escapes in the water that are more intense than the ones they teach in LG training. Should probably ask a recruiter.
