Does anyone work as a recruiter for Aerotek?
I came across a job listing on Careerbuilder as an entry-lever recruiter for Aerotek. When I clicked "email your resume", it instead directed me to this website called thingamajob.com and made me set up an account in order to apply. Something about it seemed sketchy and I'll probably get a crapload of spam now. I searched online and came up with mainly negative reviews from people seeking work through the agency. Has anyone worked for or interviewed for this recruiter position?

- I have know Aerotek for years and I have done a lot of temp. or contract work as they like to call it. I am not sure if I have work for them. Try going to indeed.com and they have a company forum area that people put information on companies. They do a lot of professional recruiting. Thingamajob is a odd name but is a site that they have had for many years. I don't think you will get scam and spammed. Recruiting can be a hard job as you are constantly looking for leads. Leads are companies with managers that will pay you for searching for a canadate or have temp. positions. Then you look for leads to fill the positon or job seekers. In a bad ecomomy it is hard to find jobs, in a good economy it is hard to find job hunter willing to move or leave another job. A lot of terms to learn for each type of job. If you are in the field you are searching for, it is easier. or a nurse or nurses aid would be know the terms and the 21+ types of nurses. Most recruiting agencies split the job into to areas, one to contact employers and another to contact job hunters. If you work there, develop a data base of the companies and the contacts secretly, if find out you are doing it, they will fire you. If you have to leave or get layed off or get married with kids. You can start doing it from home. The medical recruiting is one of the best areas to learn. I know a lady that got laid off and with her database of companies and managers made a lot of money from her database, 100K plus working from home. Look for my answer on a question on good job sites to search. I have some warnings about posting information. One is to make a special email for job hunting and the other is to look for job hunting groups in your area. Most big cities have them.
