where can I find job listings for cruise lines that aren't scams?

I am a massage therapist and I can sing/dance a little plus, I have experience in clerical work. I am interested in traveling but all of the sites online I have found want you to buy a book wth job listings in it. This does not sound legitimate to me. Is there another place to get this information?

  1. Most cruise lines are not owned by American companies. (I don't know of any). This means that they do not have to follow US laws. Laws on safety, employment hours, minimum wage. You coud easily find yourself sharing are room with 20 other people in a tight little room with hammocks hanging. You may not be able to walk around the boat during any off hours. Your hours may be long - no overtime as US laws. You may get paid $2/hour Please consult someone that already does what you want to do and aks them how satisfied they are with their job, their hours, and their pay. /
  2. You should go to the Web sites of each cruise line directly and follow their links for "careers" or "employment opportunities". Please read Judy's answer carefully. I agree completely with everything she says.
  3. Try the cruise lines themselves.
  4. The largest company employing on-board spa personnel is Steiner Leisure who run the spas on many of the big cruise lines http://www.onespaworld.com/ For singing and dancing, you can often find auditions posted in entertainment industry publications/casting sites - Backstage in the US and The Stage or Spotlight in the UK For clerical and other jobs, check each individual cruise line site under Careers. You'll sometimes find entertainment and beauty therapist jobs there as well. Never pay for any book or any site wanting a registration fee.
  5. Try Florida YellowPages or online directories
  6. Don't pay for information you can get for free. Go to www.cruiselinesjobs.com, there's quite a lot about cruise line employment there for free. Also, they have a long list of recruitment agents in their directory. The best places for applying for a job on a cruise ship are probably websites of individual cruise lines - Royal Caribbean, Norwegian Cruise Line, Disney Cruises, etc. I find specialized job sites useful as well, mainly www.allcruisejobs.com and www.catererglobal.com.
