If I get in a dui in colorado, but leave to california, will I have a warrent for my arrest in california?

Will the cops have any knowledge of my dui in colorado or will the colorado cops come looking for me in california?

  1. Of course. What don't you understand about the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA? Refer to answers 2 thru five.
  2. When you default in Colorado, California will be notified, and the license suspended. This works nation wide for your information.
  3. You will not have a warrant in California, but you will get your DL suspended and of course if you go back to Colorado you may be arrested The warrant information will be nation wide, but Colorado will not spend the money to come and get you on that charge
  4. Yes you will have a warrant for your arrest if you do this. The police in Colorado will enter your name and other biographical info into a NATIONAL database (called NCIC). Then you can (and probably will) be arrested in California. Probably better to take care of the DUI than to ignore it... might suck to take care of it, but will suck worse to ignore- get jailed, and stay in jail till they extradite you all the way back...
  5. There are 2 parts in DUI case. First your rights to driving (driving license) will be revoked until you clear your fulfillment required by DMV. It doesn't matter which state you are located, so moving to other state won't help. Secondly your criminal offense at the court and this also you must clear the order by the court. Either one you will have to get done otherwise it won't be cleared out of your record for your lifetime.
