Why is it impossible to find a GOOD paying job?
Honestly, this is pretty ridiculous! I have a degree, I'm smart and I have excellent writing skills. Yet when going on Craigslist to search for a second job, its damn near impossible. Can someone please answer the following questions (and I do appreciate the time you'll take to do this, as this is frustrating): 1) Why do companies advertise they're Hiring, and then when I email a cover letter & resume that show I'm qualified for the job, I hear nothing? I understand many are applying, but come on! Not even a phone call for an interview? You usually don't hear back if the company isn't hiring at all. But I'm applying to places that ARE advertising they're looking for employees! 2) I'm appalled at how low many of the jobs start you off at. Dog walkers, baby-sitters, hell office assistants are only getting paid $9-10 an hour?! Seriously, in THIS economy? How is the employer expecting the person to pay their rent or even live manageable? And this is 2010. Cost of living anyone? For what I would have to put up with in terms of the child (ONE place required CPR certification!!!) that's basically slave wages. $15 an hour should be the minimum. 3) SO MANY marketing and salary jobs require the applicant to make the majority of their salary on commission. So not fair! So in order to make $40-80,000 a year, I'm expected to make the company money by basically being a corporate hustler? Why can't there be jobs that just pay me $50,000 a year without expecting me to "always be selling" or "getting those sales boosted"? I'm not your average marketing type of gal. I'm an artist, I didn't go to school to be in that field. 4) Scam jobs are everywhere! Why so many places advertising to "get rich quick" with them, knowing its so obvious theyre out to get your dollars? Please, only answer if you're going to give me legitimate reasoning and not just half-ass sentence responses. Thanks! Not EVERYONE has a degree!!! And the jobs I'm applying for that are declining me are ones I AM qualified for. I'm a Tour Guide at my current job, so when I apply to be a tour guide at another job, I'm shocked not to hear anything! How are you not going to interview me and I have experience already in what you're looking for?

- What is your degree on again? If it's liberal arts - you'll have trouble finding work. /
- i think you should start your own business
- You could start a home business online and make a residual income. This isn't a "get rich quick" scheme. It takes work. The more work you put into it the more you will earn. You can start by signing up here https://paydotcom.com/r/96639/mojoxc/26203903/ you can make a website to promote your products are sell other peoples products. I just started about 2 months ago and I make about $68/day. Which isn't that much but it's good when I didn't do that much work. Hope that helps :)
- DUDE everyone has a first degree, you need to get something that makes you stand out. and FYI recession still going on with people being fired. Get another degree, start your own business etc Answers to your questions: 1) There are more qualified people than you 2) Because they can pay so little because people are desperate and plus there are loads of illegal aliens who'd work for peanuts. 3) Performance, they dont want slackers working for them as well as keep competition high among staff. 4) people are stupid enough to fall for them, also scammers need to make money as well
- HI. IM josh and i read some of the comments people wrote and also what you wrote. FIRST of all dont listen to anyone that is telling you that your gonna make this much in their company. The problem is that when you work for someone you are working toward their dreams and they controll how much you make and whether or not you work. so you have to get that JOB mentality out of your head and think CAREER. SECOND of all do not take advice about how to be wealthy from people who are poor. EVERYONE TEACHES YOU THAT IN ORDER TO LIVE GOOD TO GO TO SCHOOL AND GET A J.O.B. well that obviously doesnt work the way they say it does. IF you want to stop WORKING A JOB and start YOUR CAREER just let me know. I am not writing to try to get you to do something. I am writing to help you become wealthy because life is easier that way. IF you want to change your life then contact me please. I would love to help you. If not then thank you for allowing me to share this with you ok. TAKE CARE:) Sincerely, Joshua Hernandez padilla6j23@ yahoo P.S. MY COMPANY IS ON A CRUSADE TO SAVE LIVES SO HOPEFULLY AT LEAST YOU CAN HELP ME WITH THAT:)
- I hear your pain! Your frustrations are not alone. Many many people are wondering all of the same things you have listed. I will try to answer as best as I can: 1. Companies are understaffed and many employers are not qualified to hire people. They have utilized technology to place ads, receive resumes and screen for keywords. They have forgotten an old fashion tactic: manners. They should set up a system to RESPOND to inquiries (particularly when they advertise for people) and at least let people know that their information was received. Since they are not wanting to speak to people and would rather hide behind a computer, they just don't respond at all. This creates frustration and ill feelings from candidates. 2. In this economy, employers are able to pay less and get more because so many more people are unemployed. When things pick up, employees who took the lower paying jobs to pay their rent will bail and go to better paying jobs. It has always been this way and it is unfortunate that companies don't "get it" and pay people better wages to do a job well done. It also builds loyalty and a longer term employee within that company. 3. It is brilliant strategy on a company's part to pay most of the wage on a commission but not many people are self starters to start from scratch each day, prospect, network and close. Some people are worker bees and the jobs that they are attracted to and good at are salaried positions. Even those positions are wringing the life blood out of workers as companies try to get every last drop of work out of a salaried person. 4. Scam jobs have always been there and will always be there. They prey on the desperate and the ones who can't afford it the most. With the internet and international scams, it is harder to crack down and shut these scammers down. They just go on and open up a new scam on another day. After all is said and done, experience and quality will always win out. If you are creative, you need to align yourself with a reputable recruiter who LISTENS, RESPONDS and coaches you as to what you will need to be a success on a short and long term basis. If you are so inclined, a friend of mine has such a firm. It is called AD Temps and their website is www.ad-temps. com. They are known to help candidates find a good position either freelance or fulltime and work with people in helping them find what they are good at doing (versus just putting you in any job for a fee!). If you feel so inclined, please go to their website. They are legit - been in business since 1986. You have nothing to lose.
