Curriculum Vitae help please :)?

Hi. I am looking for a job at present and have handed quite alot of CV's out already. However I would just like some advice. I have decided to take a year out from college, as I would like to gain some more work experience (paid). I don't know how to word it though. I presume I would have to write a small sentence or two on my personal profile? Does the rest of my CV look ok? Hobbies & Interests In my leisure time I enjoy cycling, swimming and meeting new people. I also participate in Outward Bound activities with members of my youth club. 1. Looks OK - It is customary to start with a roughly chronological arrangement so begin with education - briefly. I don't like self-opinions or motivations in these things - keep it factual. You can always add a bit of something in the covering letter. Avoid any negatives - don't mention redundancy (why did they choose you and not someone else?) and I wouldn't say shelf stacking it is a cliche and not a very good one - say stock control or similar. Don't mention grades if they are not particularly high. Do employment in reverse order with latest first. Finish with interests - these are quite important - if you travel you should mention this - also sports are good evidence of being a team player. Lay it out well - you have the briefest of opportunities to make an impression when your CV is one amongst hundreds (these days) that an employer will be flicking through. Nanoseconds, really. No mugshots unless you are Brad Pitt. (Make sure spelling and grammar are perfect for this and any covering letter).
2. I suggest the following amendments:- Personal Profile - DELETE the whole thing - Employers do NOT want to see this on a CV. Key Skills - DELETE the whole thing - Employers do NOT want to see this on a CV. Work Experience/Employment goes AFTER Education. Education - list the postal address of your school(s). And EVERY exam you have done needs to be listed, with the grade (no matter how bad). Achievements - DELETE this section - as employers do NOT want to see this on any CV.
