Help. I'm stuck here in this little Maine town and I'd give anything to move to Florida. The winters depress me and i just lost my job so im not making any money and it's IMPOSSIBLE to find work in Maine during the winter. How to I make quick money and find a place in FL before the snows fallin. Whats a 20 year old to do?

- you have to try and get something now,as long as you can save enough up to shift down south a bit so you can get more work before shifting all the way down to florida,(if you can you might be able to work holiday your way down)
- STUDY NEW SKIILS & APPLY FOR JOB IN OTHER PLACE
- You are twenty years old, which means you are old enough to be able to stand on your own two feet. It also means that you have your whole life ahead of you still. You lost your job, and that will happen on occasion. It could be your fault, it could be someone else's, or it could simply be the economy and out of your control. The key here is to switch from being depressed and look at this as an opportunity to broaden your horizons. You did not mention whether you graduated high school or took any college courses, but now is the time to get "retrained" so to speak. Pick something that you've always liked to do and then look at getting trained to do that better. Many community colleges offer inexpensive courses in architecture, languages, accounting, etc. Trade schools will offer intensive courses in mechanics, carpentry, plumbing, etc. and many of the schools offer loans that can be repaid after you start a new job, and even help you find employment. Or perhaps mom or dad can help, as most parents don't mind giving personal loans if they see it is for their child's education and they are showing some responsibility and dedication to improving their situation. And there is always the tried and true favorite...join the military. Many young men and women sign up so they can learn a skill that they can use after their required term is up. This is a bit of a nasty trick, but even if you don't plan on joining the military, you could always hint that you are considering it. Some parents often help you out financially when they consider that their "baby" may end up going to war and risk his life in Iraq or elsewhere. (I myself don't like the idea of using that as a bargaining chip, but I do know some people who would do that just to get their way.) If you are looking for a job and want to make sure you are in warm and sunny locations this winter, you could always check with Carnival Cruise Lines or another cruise ship company to see what positions are available. They often leave from places like Miami and head to Jamaica, Bahamas, and other tropical locations.
