Help with job hunting.....?
I used to have a very good work history, however in the last few years that has diminished....I left a long term job for another one that had a lot of promise but I turned out they were not looking to hire me for the long haul and I was dismissed the problem being i s that I burned my bridge at the previous employer...so, for the last few years its been musical jobs, just what ever pays the bills and the same ol same ol working through temp services at companies that have no intention of ever hiring anyone full time, seasonal jobs, short term jobs, etc etc now the question is if I were to "with hold information" and not list these multiple jobs and instead list myself as self employeed for the past few years would any would be employer even be able to find the the truth out? just from what i've heard and seen most places won't hire me all because of the past few years anyway

- I was in your same "boat". Had a good job; changed to another that looked much better but ended up worst than the other. What can "save" you is that you can use the "temporary agencies" for your benefit. What they do is provide you with lots of jobs, so that is what you tell your interviewer. You worked for these agencies therefore you have a lot of experience doing "this and that". I kind-a like these musical jobs because you learn a lot. Make these experiences work for you. I worked for 5 temp agencies in 3 years! We are a special breed. Good luck.
- many job applications have areas where you can make comments and explain the reason for your job history and you can also create a resume to show that you are serious about becoming a long term employee or whatever message you want to convey. Also, word of mouth is a great way to get jobs so let everyone you know you are looking including your grocer or banker and maybe someone can put in a good word in for you or make recommendations regarding companies that are hiring. (For example my banker recommended a job at the local college) I don't know about whether they will find out if you lie on your application. It probably depends on the type of job you apply for. For example, casinos check your background very carefully where as grocery stores probably don't.
- I just answered your identical question you posted on another category, so here's your answer: read over what I already posted
