Hello. Can anyone explain the reasons behind all of these crazy Emails I continually receive from strangers ?

I'll tell you, It's Nuts ! For nearly 6 months now, I have been bombarded with these insane messages from people from around the World and ALL are total strangers. Let's see, I have been notified that I was selected as winner in a Lottery probably 12 times and all different contests with a total winning amount around 30 million and often in British pounds. I have been contacted multiple times from financial persons in Uganda or South Africa or Kenya...etc and all invite me to enjoy 10 to 30 percent of multiple millions of dollars by simply accepting a courier's package. There have been countless Legal representatives from dead or near dead persons with no family and I am asked to stand in and accept the massive inheritance to avoid government seizure with my pay at 30 percent. There have been a dozen messages from very wealthy people soon to die from illness and want to make amends by donating their fortunes to charity which I am asked to oversee...30 percent...etc. I have gotten messages from Nokia and Honda and Microsoft that advise me of my new found wealth and today, I got one that had a twist. It was a job offer from a company in China that wanted me to act as an accounts receivable clerk that would save them a lot of tax payments and I'd get 10 percent just because I am such a lucky rascal? I have saved every one and my common sense tells me that I'm still as poor as I was last year but ...well, is this weird or is it happening to every one? Thanks for the input but to re-answer. I've used the same Yahoo Mail account for 10+ years and my "Spam" filters are seven feet tall plus I have never had a problem that remotely resembles this barrage of interests in me and that goes for all of my lousy friends that never Email me anyway ! I like my Yahoo mail but this seemed strange. Do you think I might actually be filthy rich and may screw it up by being paranoid? NOT ! Sorry, I forgot something. Great advice Riki but to restate the fact that I have had this box for an eternity and always return unwanted mail as spam and never solicit any unknown entity because I hate the residual effects of junk mail, that rules out those possibilities. Also, did you ever look really close or watch the returned spam messages? Well, at least from what I have observed, they just change a few characters and resend them but with exponential fury ! They have struck again ! I just received another offer from a lady whose Husband had passed away and she was diagnosed with terminal cancer and 10 Million in the bank. Her greedy and UnGodly In laws were squandering her money with Sin and gluttony and she desperately wants it to go to charities, widowed and/or childless women of God, Orphanages and Religious communities that help the poor but is far too ill to take care of the details. Being unable to trust her sinful family to retrieve the money from the Singapore trust where it is stored she has decided that a total and complete stranger is a safer way to go and is offering me Power of Attorney as the official delegate in charge of her 10 million dollars. I double checked and beginning in july 2008 until today, I have 55 propositions saved in my little file that I affectionately call "Mr. Inheritance." Most ask for Name, Address, Phone, employer and marital status. Period. A few ask for a processing fee of about a hundred bucks?

  1. What kind of E-Mail do you have, Comcast, Yahoo, Gmail, AOL, Verizon, Juno, Hotmail, etc. I think you should change your E-Mail to a different kind. That's what I would do.
  2. that's really weird...yeah you should get a new email address
  3. Click options top right of your mail box then click spam protection and select your choices. Also when spam comes in tick the little box beside the message then click spam. Also click on your bulk icon and make sure spam guard is on. If not turn it on. If you are in the habit of subscribing to a bunch of junky stuff stop doing that and never reply to spam.
  4. that alwaysss happens to me! I get around 400 messages a day from weirs sites like e harmony and netfix. lol so i changed my email to yahoo! :D anyway i realized it was from entering my e-mail into one of those fake things... maybe u did that without noticing. its usually the case! hope u get it fixed!!!!! ~xoxo~
  5. I get these too and isn't it ironic that after all these "inheritances", "lottery winnings" and "lets make a deal" emails they are followed up by emails for "colon cleansing"? Aren't all these emails trying to clean your ass out anyway? YOU CAN'T block them all. They are every changing their addresses. This makes them harder to track and it insures them that they will always get to your email. You can change emails, but it is only a matter of time before your email gets on a circulated list and you are back to being bombarded by these type of emails (scams). The Sad thing about these emails are that they are scams and a lot of people fall for these scams. I watched a Dateline episode on "To catch a criminal" and they lured these type COMPUTER cons in. When they realized they were busted most ran, but some didn't. They justified their frauds like modern day Robin Hoods. They said that they were taking back from the establishments that they had felt had been taken money from innocent people for years. ??? I have received these email scam proposals and am I an institution? Who did I take money from to warrant having my whole savings, retirement, and belongings stolen from Me? If you don't know these are CROOKS sending these emails, then YOU DO NOW.
