Unemployment question refused job and now filing this weeks continued claim..?

I was honest, and after accepting a job offer, and then after finding out the facts about the job told them I couldnt do the job. So any how I was honest and during my continued claim process, selected yes that I refused a job. Bad me. So they give a small area online to explain why, not nearly enough room. It says to call and give any additional info. The lines are busy for hours, so I find a number to someone involved with the program at a higher level that gives me his fax number and he said he will get the information added in, and since hes of a high position I dont doubt he did that, he had me call him to make sure hed recieved the faxes and he had. So I guess the automated system kicked me a letter reminding me to call and report additional info. Its time now to do the file a continued claim while waiting to see if UI accepts or denies my reasons for ending the job before it even started. the company had already recieved via email the acceptance of offer, faxed I9 and proof of noterized view of social security card and drivers liscence. The company does everything online, and it is a big company and the job was through an ad on the workforce state website. My concern is, if the system needs me to respond more, that that letter that came mailed on Thursday has to be addressed for my benefit, allowing me to complete the process as everyone else does, if I file now the new claim the system will be reset and only accept info regarding this week. My questions is, should I focus on finsihing up the intial filing that stated I refused a job, or go ahead and file for this week? For those of you who have had a refusal of job, heres what happened. Job states x money for x hours, its pt and will pay for milage between store visits, not to the first store or after the last, I agree to this. .10 per printed form, and computer time to input data daily from the store visits, its merchandising. Never done it before. I must keep my cell on, internet on, and keep my computer and printer in working order, I cant afford them now, someone else is helping paying for these while Im unemployed only. I must keep of course my car in working order. The location is suppose to be my hometown, but once the recruiter calls adds in a city that 45 miles away, so I am frantic I need a job so I agree. I ask the recruiter since Im using my car for the company do they have any policy to help with additional costs that my ins company might want, he says, if you get in a wreck do not tell them your using the car for work, hey Im not lying to anyone, so I asked him to get me info from a manager. He never does, he sends the offer and Im needing a job so I sign it and email it back, theres no office to go to. The manager calls once all my emails and paperwork is faxed, and wont answer questions about how the company manaul i just got says I can be paid dif amounts of money, and she wont say a work but that the jobs not for me, and I told her yes it was, please just tell me about the job, so then my ins agent calls,he says my insurance will go up, and so I call the manager and ask if they will pay this overage, and I said Im sorry, and nothing more, she says I understand, call the recuiter and ask him to send me someone else. that it, wont address the pay question isnt willing to discuss anything. do thats basically what my fax says, UI cut me off, and I dont know if I need to try to say more.........the company was just so shady I was afraid I would not get paid after working a week, if they wont be upfront, and my cars pretty old, IN THE END, I should not of applied to this job, I honestlyl just wanted a job and felt I could do this til I found a better job. Was I wrong, paying cell, internet, and now more for insurance, was half the months pay from this job...........is it my fault, what do you think? And do you think I need to call as the letter stated, or that the letter came automatidly and my faxed info is attached to the case now and I dont need to worry...........advise and comment, was a I stupid not to take a job that was costing me too much to take the job...the recruiter when asked told me he was simply going to say i asked to be let out of employment over insurance, which since thats all I got to ask about is the truth, but all the shadyness is not really showing with my description. I agree Kate. Job stated 11.00 hr, company refused to provide information on car insurance, which would cost me more money I found out later on, I am already paying to keep the internet on, cell phone, keep computer and printer in working order and use my own car. Lack of communication led me to not trust the company and eventually turn down the job. The company manual mailed after I accepted the offer notes diferent companies can pay other than the hired rate, never able to verfify this or not. IS THIS BETTER?

  1. Your biggest problem with unemployment will be your long long long stories . No human can follow that much chatter . Shorten it down to ONE sentence , LIKE Unable to accept job due to requirement to use personal vehicle for company business . If they still want more details then explain with 2 or 3 more sentences but NEVER that essay / thesis like thing you submitted here . If you insist on communicating in such a verbose fashion , Your claims will be lost in limbo until your 80 years old . And the subsequent stuff will go with it , like this weeks claims . And if you do call , find a way to shorten that chatter too or else you will NEVER get anything done . Because the humans will ALWAYS say they have to get back to you later , After they take vacation to recover from the yak yak yak yak yak yak yak the yak yak yak yak yak yak yak . Now , go practice ONE sentence responses . good luck >
  2. Definitely send in the continued claim forms. If and when UI eventually decides that you had a good reason for refusing the job, they should immediately send checks (or, in California, IOU's) for any weeks for which they already have received claim forms. If you wait to send in the continued claim forms, then they can put you through a whole new round of telephone calls to discuss why you did not send in the forms sooner. Call the higher-up person and ask that person whether you still need to follow the instructions in the letter.
