Does anyone know about John Robert Powers School or IPOP?

My neighbor's daughter has been attending JRP school in Tampa Fl. She has been chosen to attend the International Presentations of Performers (IPOP) this summer. Does anyone know anything about either organization. Her mother says it is going to cost $4000 for the daugher and around $2000 for herself. She has asked me to see what I can learn about both of these organizations and whether or not this is some sort of scam. I did a little research on the net and it looks like they have found jobs for quite a few of their students. I have not been able to determine the percentage of students who are selected from each school or the percentage of kids who actually get hired. Any feedback would be appreciated.

  1. Do a web search on "John Robert Powers" and "scam." Share the results with your neighbor and save her $6000.
  2. I know that when I went to iPOP yes it was expensive but I did end up getting 5 callbacks from agents and signed with one of them and have now done 4 commercials. I think there were at least 200 kids that auditioned at my school and there were only 25 or so that went. When we were at iPOP the Tampa location was getting called up all the time for awards. So im sure they have a great program there. You can't believe everything you hear online about JRP. I loved the program and Im sure your neighbor does too or they wouldn't even consider going to ipop. The bad stuff you read are from people who searched and saw bad stuff! lol It spreads like a plague. Ask people who actually went to ipop or through JRP and they will all tell you it was worth the money and they would do it again. I know I would. So I would suggest for your neighbor to go buy their own instincts. If they like the JRP program they are going through now and it feels right...go for it! If they don't and it feels wrong then opt out. They can check out what other parents are saying at www.ipoptalk.com I can tell you though that I have never met someone who had regrets about going to ipop, even if they didn't get a callback. It is an amazing experience all the way around.
