Jobs Simply

Does anyone know the answer?

We are located in SE Florida and with the economy and job market what it is, I feel my husband may be let go in the very near future. He is a project manager/estimator for a commercial construction company that is slowing down. He has 14 years of experience in the construction industry. He is an effective team leader that can collaborate effectively between departments to develop new and existing relationships with business partners and clients. Monster.com, Careerbuilder.com, and local job search sites or news papers have been useless. . I am also looking for transition jobs and such. We do not have the luxury at this time for him to train in vocation school or college for a new job. I am hoping someone can possibly direct us to some leads, please. If you know any possibilities or people you could direct us to, please let me know. Please feel free to email me. I thank you so much!

  1. I have heard the economy is particularly bad there. I do know how you feel (been there) and wish you luck. As to practical advice I'm not sure I have any. I suggest expanding your job search beyond the area where you are looking - even if it means a longer commute - I know selling a home now to relocate would not be easy so that is most likely out of the question. He should network with people he knows in the industry and let them know he may soon be looking for a postion and that (due to the economy) he is willing accept a lower ranking / paying postion. Good Luck & God Bless!
