We trained our Pit to be a bomb sniffer. What else can we do that exersizes his nose?

A few years ago, my mom and I decided to start training our pure adult male Pit Bull, Chaos, to be a bomb sniffing dog. We would hide fireworks and flares around our cars and have them sniff them out and he got the hang of it in less than 5 minutes. Within 30 seconds, he can find the flare on the car. Also, a few months ago, my mom was at work and she was grooming this little black poodle, it was nighttime and so it was hard to see a little black dog. A customer accidentally left the door open and the poodle jumped off of the table when my mom was shaving its neck and so it got away. They looked for it for 3 hours and then they gave up and my mom went back to get Chaos. She had him sniff some of the dogs hair that got shaved off, and Chaos found the other dog in less than 10 seconds. It's been a few years since we trained him and he is still really good. I want to do some kind or bomb sniffing job or search and rescue but how would I go about training him and enrolling him in a program?

  1. I would contact your local EMS, Police Department, Fire Station, or Town Hall.... Especially if your local Police Department has a K-9 unit.. They should be able to help you.....
  2. you could ask your local police. if you want to do a bomb sniffing job, ask the police. but i'm not sure that they will allow you, as their dogs are trained in special facilities.
  3. bench press
  4. Sorry, they all train their own dogs.
