What is the difference between a curriculum vitae and a resume?
As an employer which do you prefer to receive?

- A curriculum vitae and a resume are often used interchangeably, but one details former positions held (resume) and one details education, published credits, and the like. A CV is typically far more detailed. As an employer, it truly depends on the position that I am recruiting for. If I am looking for an Administrative Assistant, a resume is great. If I am looking for a pediatric radiologist, I want a CV.
- A resume is a summation of your work history and education, typically no longer than 2 pages. A curriculum vitae is used by higher education and more professional positions to summarize education received, classes taught, certifications, professional publications, and speaking engagements.
