- I mostly have experience with store brands - Here's my observations Hakari - Consistently high quality. Their sinking carnivore is the only thing I can get my pike to eat. Their alphalpha laced seaweed discs are also very high quality. H.B.H. - Nearly all Total crap. google hbh recall... Their Oscar Grow isn't too bad though. They use too much generic fish meal which is typically the leftover bits of the fish ground up. Ocean Nutrition - One of my favoirite veggie flakes, but I think it lacks vitamin D for big south american / asian cichlids and feeding exclusively will lead to HLLE infections in my experience. Tetramin - Flakes and crisps are perfect for community fish. Other stuff is a little crappy (the krill is crap). You're missing Sally's... They make the best tubifex blocks and have the best (affordable) freeze dried krill. Wardleys. Their shrimp pellets are very fattening & very messy compared to other brands, but also VERY CHEAP. Ideal for growing cichlids, feeding catfish, and treats to guppies. Their tubifex worms are unpalatable to my fish.
