- Singapore like just about every other country does not permit the change of visa you have in mind. By all means look for a job while you're there but you will need to leave the country and apply for a residence visa and a work permit before you could take up the job. Do not assume it will be granted. HR experience is not in short supply in Singapore. Ian M
- Getting a good job in Singapore is not difficult, provided you have the right attitude and quality. It is even more easy if you speaks Mandarin (Chinese language). It is common to see an advertisements which mention 'Singaporean/Spore PR only need apply' or 'Singaporean/Spore PR/Malaysian only need apply' or 'Able to communicate in Mandarin' but dont be surprise that some employers fail to mention above conditions in their advertisements. In most cases, job preference will be given to: 1> Singapore citizen 2> Singapore PR 3> Malaysian 4> Foreigner who speaks Mandarin 5> Foreigner who does not speak Mandarin Unless you have a colourful qualification and experience, else, without Mandarin chances of you landing a good job is slim. Perhaps, you should start surfing www.jobstreet.com.sg being the largest job website in Singapore.
- A lot of people in Singapore are measuring the road (No Job) so please don't come before you confirm any job.
- What Ben said is funnily true.. But nobody knows his luck..
- oh Peter is mean. However, most indian nationals come here WITH a job. coming here looking for one if tough and stressful. especially HR jobs like Singaporeans because they are familiar with Local Tax, labor laws and etc. Don't restrict yourself with jobs in this area, because seriously, there are many Singaporeans with HR jobs already, they probably don;t need foreigner in this area. Try www.jobstreet.com.sg or www.jobsdb.com.sg before you come might give you a better idea....
