I'm presently residing in India and planning to visit Dubai for job search by next month. I'm a graduate and now working as senior sales officer in an automobile industry (Toyota). And i'm having a total experience of three and half years in automobile sales field. I came to know that living cost of Dubai is very expensive, so i'd like to know, (1) what salary would i get ?(in sales considering my educational qualificaton and experience) (2) what will be the living expenses ?(middle class) (including house rent, food, transportation etc...) I'm getting married by six months and also want's to accomodate my spouse at the same time. so kindly give me a reply regading these quiries at the earliest.

  1. I am living in Dubai for 9 years ..... TRUST ME YOU ARE DOING A BLUNDER BY TAKING A DECISION TO COME TO HERE. COST OF LIVING IS TOO HIGH ...... 2 bedroom / annum : 12 lakhs 1 bedroom / annum : 8 lakhs 1 room Studio flat : 6 lakhs 1 room sharing : 4 lakhs Apart from the above... no managers actually get the managerial post ...... Incentives are always cheated by giving unattainable targets.... Don't waste your career..... Don't waste your life by coming here..... You are getting married .... enjoy life there for 2 years .... INDIA IS BOOMING ... we are all planning to return back .... because of the conditions here .... Cost of living is increasing every month ...... Please don't come ...
  2. Hi there...answer for your questios:- 1) The salary that u should be getting will totally depend upon how well skilled you are according to your experience i belive you should be getting 4,000+ AED. 2) Yes the cost of living over there is high especially the house rent it has tripled lately...and commuting has become a major problem as most of the time there is traffic jams for example if u have work around 8:30am then its better if u move out of house by 7 or 630. the better is try to get a flat nearby to ur work place as it would be very tiring and literally irritating to go up and down from dubai to sharjah...In the dubai the studio flat is above 20,000+ AED/ yr so ppl goes for sharjah and now lately even sharjah govt has increased their rates too so ppl are running for Ajman and most of them has quit their job and landed up at their respective homeland coz u go out of India just to earn and save money but if u cant do that then its pointless...Now as the road tax has being put up so if u get ur own transport or go via cab then ur earnings will go in commuting itself.... But still if u want to try u can go ahead as Dubai is a wonderfull city but due traffic jams and high expenses all the expatriates are running away from there... Suggestion: If you are going to Dubai then try to postpone ur wedding coz it will tighten u up financially... All the Best for your future..
  3. 1) if u dnt have uae experience, or GCC experience, that would depend on the level of position you applied for. 2) Dubai is expensive, have a high cost of living (not to mention traffic congenstion). Rent if you wanted a flat, well, thats a dream, a room, maybe you can get a AED 3,000 room and thats fair enough. Food is modest if youre not picky, transpo? well i recomend a bus (w/c is always full in the early morning) a taxi could take you anywhere and it could take your budget too. Thats why i relocated in Abu Dhabi, :) im happy here...
  4. Water is very costly. Petrol is very cheap. Most places the accomodation is fully-furnished. Food cost is at par with Indian food cost. Electricity is costly. You should have clear terms regarding salary being offered, components of salary, perks and benefits other than salary, annual leave, weekly off day, compensatory off, monetary or legal bond required to sign for this job, who will pay for air-tickets, who will provide accomodation, will it be fully furnished, will it be a batchlor accomodation, what locality it will be provided, how many other batchlors would be staying there with you, transportation facility, food facilities, distance between work-place and house, visa, work permit, work-permit re-validation, terms and conditions for resignation before end of term, facilities in case of emergency or war etc. medical insurance, general insurance, confirmation of services, termination of services, who will have custody of your passport during your stay in Dubai, if family is to be shifted to dubai then change of accomodation and other facilities.... please discuss all these with the employer and get that in writing.... else you will be facing problems.... you will need approx 8000 Dirrahms per month for average middle-class living. Also check whether you will get salary in US Dollars and or Dirrahms? What about tax on income? mostly it is tax free.
  5. Don't waste your valid time, money and don't spoil your growing career and life with your family.
