How are the jobs alotted on the basis of UPSC? Or do we select the job areas we want like IAS/IPS/IFS?

1. Most probably u know there are two stages of selection.First the prelims and second the main exam and personality test.After the main exam u will be asked for making choice or preference for the selection.while that time u can make ur preferences,say 1.IAS,2.IFS,3.IPS.etc......... On the basis on ur mark and the vaccancies available in the cadre u will get appointed.The selection of preference is very imp.After the selection except IAS all others can apply for improvement. Best of luck!
2. You are asked to give preference list of various jobs. Then based on your rank in the exam you are given the job available at your rank. Aryan Classes .
