Two references from the same job?

I just got an interview for a job in retail, and i was asked to bring three work-related job references with me. The problem is, i've only worked two serious jobs. Is it acceptable to have two references from the same place of employment? For example, a head manager and assistant manager from the same job? Since i have limited work experience, is it also acceptable to use a professor that i have done multiple volunteer jobs for?

1. Yes to all your questions... The employer would more than likely welcome any and all job references... even Volunteer work!
