Do I need a lawyer in Colorado or California to request change of venue from Colorado?

We were divorced in Colorado. I want a change to the custody order. I live in Nevada and my ex lives in California. Do I need a lawyer in Colorado or California to change the venue to where my child now lives?

1. You need a lawyer because you do not understand the basics. Venue is not the right term. The proper court is the court in the state where the child is located.
