what does it mean to have a "not selected" on your job status application?

I recently applied to payless and now when I went online to check my status when it said "not selected", what does that mean? means I don't match their requirements for the job or they havent looked at mines yet? even if they didn't selected do you think I could just apply again?

3. Yes you could apply again..try to apply at other payless stores too.
