When should i have my military job selected by?
Im going to the Air Force, and qualified for some general jobs ( Police, Fireman, Medical, Administrative, etc.) I was told by my recruiter that i pick my job with an adviser in boot camp for what i am qualified for... Freinds have told me that i should already have my MOS picked before boot camp. What should i do i want to be able to pick my job of choice and not do something that i dont like?

- I would get my mos (job) before I ship. If you wait, your job will be selected for you. Sit down with the recruiter again and ask him to get your job selected now. If he says that he can't ask to see this policy in writing.
- Should of had your MOS/Job in your contract. If it's a "one of the following jobs" thing, who knows, maybe last day of boot.
- get it in writing before you go to boot, otherwise they will put you where they need people and it might not be something you want.
- you should select your job as soon as you pass your physical, so your recruiter can reserve the job for you
- Your last day at MEPS after you finally get accepted into your branch of the military, then you can pick your MOS without it getting taken up by someone else. That is the only time you can sure-fire see what is available and what you're eligible for. My recruiter gave me some crap about how he would reserve my MOS for me and he didnt, thankfully i chose a different MOS anyways when I was at MEPS. And good luck, youre really gonna enjoy the military, its an awesome way of life.
