Dose anyone hire from a job search site?

Ive applied to well over 40 jobs on a local job search site. Alot of them just require to send you resume and online application but I haven't heard a thing from any one of them. Is this expected because of the economy or is a web site the last place they look to hire someone? The sad part is I have a job and we havent gotton any work

  1. My husband has had luck many times from job sites. The problem may be that most (not all ) are head hunters searching for the employer. They look for very specific qualifications. They may be looking for a degree and if you don't have one they will never call. Maybe you need to tweak your resume a bit. Also make sure your resume is geared individually for each job you apply for. If your just sending in a general resume for everyone that may be your problem also. Hope this helps. Good Luck in your job search and remember times are tough everywhere.
  2. I do hire from Monster and Career Builder often, and I can tell you that with the economy as bad as it is, for every 1 opening I have posted I get about 200 resumes. Just keep at it, follow up on applications submitted and hang in there!
  3. I really do hope so it otherwise would be a wasted exercise not to hire someone if 200+ applications were sent in. In closing statement, I must add that governments around the world have splurged on the rich and did not regulate anything like housing construction for people, jobs, and inflation. I am really starting to get annoyed at how this situation happened over the last few years and left the economy in this state. Remember, it is we who elect a politician to do a job and do it well.
