I want to serve as a reservist. Right now I have one more semester at my community college to get an associates. I'll leave with 65 credits or so. I figured I'd land E-2 or E-3 after basic training. But I'm gonna to be transferring to a 4-year college in a year and before that I plan on enlisting. The Coast Guard and Air Force appeals to me the most. As well as being a medic of some kind. I want to get the EMT training offered in basic training. I want to try out for the Search and Rescue program in the Coast Guard but I heard that they don't except many people. Let alone a reservist. I heard PJ's in the Army go through 24 months of training. But I hope to be finishing up my bachelors in that time. My time factor: I plan on doing basic training and what ever else needed within the months of February, March, April, May, June, July and early August in 2010. I plan on getting back home mid August so I can prepare for school. 26 weeks or so of training. It would be okay to finish early. The timing and organization of the next few months has become really critical. I'm on the right track. I only need to pick a job I can be as a reservist, with little qualifications. I'm also becoming a volunteer paramedic at my local EMS. It's offered to 17 year olds and older. Im 20. They train you there at the academy they have. I hope this applies in any way to your response.
