What Should I Include in my CV for an Aspiring Make-up Artist?
I'm applying to a college in the field of "Artistic Make-up" to become a make-up artist. In order to apply you need to write a letter of motivation and a CV (Ciriculum vitae). As a person who is fairly new to this and I am attending school to gain knowledge. Im not sure as to what exactly they want in the CV, I do not have much experience in this field so Im not sure what to put in my CV as an ASPIRING MAKE-UP ARTIST, should I just list every job experience Ive had? How do I make this disireable to the school?

- In writing any CV you want to put things of relevance. That's not to say that it has to be obviously relevant. For example, a facial drawing class isn't straight up makeup, but any makeup artist knows that that information will be more than applicable to the art of makeup application. There's a vital understanding of symmetry and subtle delicateness. Or even just showing that stayed at a job for two years shows that you are devoted and responsible and serious. Just don't add the things like baby sat for a summer at age 13. Things that don't give an insight into your character or abilities are not important. If you feel like you are lacking in things to put go out and do things that you would be proud of adding. For example, take initiative and learn some basics or factions of makeup application. learn how to apply beauty makeup and start working at weddings... and build up a small portfolio. This is hugely impressive and you can learn affordably. For this try the event makeup artist, great course. Or, look for an assistant's position with a makeup artist. If you're finding it hard to get a job try offering it as an unpaid internship. There's much more but the point is do things that will show your passion, because nothing is more appealing than someone with passion and a will to put into action. www.theeventmakeupartist.com
