How is the state Maine? Would you recommend moving there? Likes and Dislikes?
I want to move to the city Gray, Maine, possibly. What is it like? What sort of job oppurtunities are available?

- Please be advised that Gray is a town, not a city. Maine is a beautiful state, but also one of the poorer states in New England. Most of the economic activity tends to be from Portland south. In summer, southern Maine is usually teeming with tourists and vacationers. The Old Orchard Beach area tends to be especially popular with families from Quebec, so it is not uncommon to hear conversations in french in that area. Once you get north of Portland it's primarily agriculture and forestry with fishing and some shipbuilding along the coast with some seasonal tourism. The poultry industry once semi-ubiquitous in the mid-coast area has declined significantly. There is some industry in Bangor and the Augusta/Waterville areas. Portland is just south of Gray. You might check the Portland Press-Herald for job opportunities. http://pressherald.mainetoday.com/ Personally, I love the mid-coast area (between Brunswick and Camden except for Brunswick and Bath being a pain to drive through sometimes, and the Wiscassett Route 1 summer traffic jam..). I hope you find this helpful and I wish you the best of luck.
- I grew up in Maine, and can say that we have the nicest people in New England! It is a great, relaxing and beautiful place to live. In the summer you have the ocean and the tourism and great shops in the old port, or Boothbay harbor or York area. In the winter we have skiing and sledding and ice fishing. You can always go camping up in Moosehead, or go down to Kittery and do some shopping and get some great seafood. I would definitely recommend moving to Maine, it is great. As for the job opportunities, I am not sure, my parents have always had work so no problem there for us. I guess it depends what branch you are working in. Good luck! p.s our accent is the best accent in the world.. ayuh!
