Two future jobs on my mind. Little help please?

Ok heres the deal. I'm currently 19 years old. I got two jobs on my mind and I cant choice what to do. Right now I'm a vol firefighter, grew up around it. But, I dont want to continue that was a full time job. I would like to stay a Vol. But my two biggest ones are, a police officer, or go into the coast guard. I want to become a police officer because my dad worked for the police dept, but not as a cop, but as a 911 dispatcher. But I grew up around cops. Nothing pisses me off more than going down the road and someone does something stupid and almost getting killed. But, Im also very good with helping with ppls problems. My other choice is the coast guard. I have always wanted to go into the coast guard since the end of 5th grade. It was on my mind big in middle school. In high school it kidda faded away. But now i work on a fishing boat which takes out tourist fishing. But, I just love being on the ocean. And I love being there in the time of need. Just like i am in the fire dept. The biggest thing that makes me double take the coast guard is, 1 there is a long wait. I have talked to the recruiter already he said alteast 1 1/2 - 2 years and its not even a grantee to get in. And 2 they can put you anyway they want, doing anything you want. I would like to do search and rescue, but im not sure if i would get that. But anyway, I understand that I will have to make the decision, but maybe you guys can give me a pointers. Also, If you dont like cops and if your going to say dont be a cop just because you dont like them, please dont waste your time and write back. SOMEone has to do the job. theres always a wise one haha But thanks guys
