I don't know anyone in town, how can I maximize my job search?

I have been looking for job for the past 2 months with only 4 interviews but no good results. I have amended my resume with an expert to improve it a little more,too.

1. The best way to find a job is from the phone book. Go through the yellow pages. Look for companies and businesses who may have a position you are looking for. Either send a resume to that business through mail (with a cover letter of course) or go by the business and hand in your resume personally. Most businesses who are hiring don't even post the jobs. It's been my experience as a recruiter the best way to find good potential employees is by word of mouth and referrals. Good luck.
