local by-laws -What work can a 13 year old do?
Homework again! My son has been asked to look at local by-laws for a list of jobs a 13 year old can do. I've searched "local by-laws" but can't find any info on this. Any ideas where to look? Thanks

- A lurvvaly news paper round
- no info means no jobs a 13 yr old can do i think thats what it means have to be 14 for a paper round
- I'm thirteen soon, and I went up to the top-shops one day. I asked them what age do you take employment? And they said 13. So I'm quite excited. Anyway, my final answer is that the only job I know is the news-round.
- Department of labor or department of child services. Look up child labor laws and state where you are.
- as far as i know, as far as paper rough you have to be 14 to do that, jobs typically dont give jobs to people that are only 13 because of the responsibility it takes to do a job and 13 year olds really arent that responsible... thats my thought
- You have to get a work-permit from your school to work at 13/14, and you CAN work at 13 - ignore any answers that say you have to be older. You can do works such as gardening, car-washing, paper-round, shelf stacking etc. w/o a work permit. The work permit comes into it for the insurance side of things; which is needed for working in retail shops, offices etc. It's a hard time for adults to get/keep their jobs, so a pretty bad time for kids too.
