Where do I find part time physics lecturer job listings in Australia?

I'm looking to teach one or two sections of calculus based freshman physics around Sept-Dec 2009. It could be at a major research university or a small community college. Are there online listings for this kind of thing? I'm currently an American so I don't know much about the Australian educational system. I'm also wondering how difficult it would be to obtain a part time working visa if anyone knows anything about this.

  1. There are no community colleges that teach Physics in Australia - Physics is mostly a university subject. Most if not all the PT teaching positions are shared between the staff of the physics department and their students. We dont have the culture here of employing out of house PT lecturers, that there seems to be in the US. Also there are only 50 universities across the country of which maybe 12 teach Physics so there its difficult to get a foot in. Also, and I should have seen this first, The university semester finishes in October (exams are November and holidays are all of December) so your timing is not good. In order to get a working visa I believe you need to have a firm offer of a job, but others may know better.
