after your bachelors degree-where did you find an entry level job?
I graduated with a 4 year degree in marketing in May. I've been searching for a job to use that skill in either event planning, advertising, management or purchasing since Jan. 2008. I've had my resume critiqued and applied to many jobs in multiple states and nothing has come of it. ANY suggestions? Where are all the entry level jobs?

- Oh you are sooooo looking for a job at the wrong time. Good luck all the same.
- Ask my contact "Dashing Geek..." He works for a Marketing Company in the Northeast United States...
- try www.monster.com or careerbuilder.com
- Work for a pharm company.
- reno nevada ,they have allot of open jobs and probably for the level your at too
- Sugar, you should totally start looking in a different field. I've been in the legal field most of my life (I started clerking for a Circuit Court Judge and then interned for a Federal Judge). I have a degree in Business Admin., (but I've never used it) and I've gone to law school. I'm currently a paralegal and formally, a financial analyst. So you see, you don't have to relegate yourself just to your chosen degree.
- go to the library and search marketing comanies then give they a call or search their web site to see if their hiring does your school you graduated from have a department to help with something like this
- Companies always cut entry level roles during bad economy time, so it will take longer before you find your dream job. If you are searching since January and still has not landed anything, I think you need to review your search strategy, may be you are looking in the wrong direction or apply to jobs that won't consider you. Given your degree is in marketing, what types of marketing roles you want? Let's say if you want to become a Brand Manager/Marketing Manager at the client side. It will be hard to compete with thousands of recent grads for a limited numbers of openings. So I will try to apply to roles that will train your marketing analytical skills first. Then reapply to those client side marketing roles after couple years. Companies such as AC Nielsen can really open lots of future doors for you. If you like the agency side marketing roles, I will suggest try volunteering first. Don't be shy, call up the Creative Director or Client Director of those agencies....introduce yourself and ask for volunteer experience. This way, you can use this as a start to get into the door.
