should a politician reside his position and salary when he/she is seeking another office?

Where else do you see an employer pay for your job search for another position; you are elected to do one job and then you are off for 2 years seeking another office; still collecting a paycheck and not showing up for the job that you were elected to do?? Shouldn't you have to really show you want the new job by resigning your position in the Senate or House and stop collecting a paycheck for a job that you are not doing????

  1. Yes. That's a great point. They should build that cost into their campaign. Imagine the brownie points they would score with the voters to boot!
  2. I liked Your question. Like they would give up a dime or power to do that.
