What is the average starting salary for a journalist?

I'm doing some project in health and it requires me to find the starting salary for any job I want. What might be the average starting rate for a journalist, and what are the benefits involved? Any more information would be very helpful, such as where might I be able to search for a job so I can look up even more details.
