I've been in Livonia, Michigan for 2 months now and have had NO LUCK with finding a job. Help!?
I'm originally from Los Angeles and built an extensive career in the retail banking industry (executive management/training) and have been met with such dismal failure in finding a decent job here in the southeastern region of Michigan. I understand the job market here is somewhat dead, however can someone PLEASE shed some light as to which resources are the best in terms of finding a solid job that pays over $15/hr or a salary of $35K and above? Are there any good companies around here that I can actually walk into, hand in my resume and meet with someone?

- Michigan and Jobs didn't know we were allowed to put those words in the same sentence!
- Try temp agencies. Things are dead there so most companies probably have people laid off they could call back before hiring someone from out of state. Try for jobs a long way from home away from Detroit where you may not have as many unemployed people around you.
- IT DEPEND ON LUCK
- Any chance of escaping michigan ? >
- I work for a trucking company that delivers about 40-50 loads a week to BASF in Lavonia, MI. If you learn to drive a truck, which isn't all that hard, and don't mind being away from home a few nights a week, you can easily make $900-$1100 per week. And yes, we do have women that work at the same company as I do.
