Wouldn't it be nice if California invested in desalinization plants and left the Colorado River for southwest?

States like Nevada and Arizona need water. The main source for Nevada is the Colorado, yet a lot of water goes to the growing fields of California. With all the talk of drought and water shortages, can desalisation plants take up some of the slack? I realise it is expensive, but something needs to be done.

  1. It would be a great idea, but with all of the environmental laws in California, it would be very hard to build any type of plant especially desalinization plants in California.
  2. It would be far better to get the eco-laws reduced to the point where business could step-up to address these problems. Its been proven historically that private industry produce far better solutions to problem than government action.
