Can I learn Excel or Word online for free?

I'd love an office job. I'm a very fast and accurate typist, I'm extremely computer literate. I just lack the qualifications to put on my resume. I'm sure learning Excel, Word, Office or any of the programs typically necessary for receptionist/data entry work, would be extremely easy for me. Most job listings I read require knowledge of spreadsheets, etc. Basically, I'm wondering if there are any websites that can tutor you with these programs for free? I'm sure I could just download/buy the programs and figure it out myself, but surely I'd benefit from any kind of overhand guidance. Thanks for any and all help!

  1. You can download Open Office for free. There are also tutorials: http://openoffice.org
  2. ya go to www.microsoftexcel.com
  3. You can learn Excel, word and office at home. Microsoft provides adequate tutorials to help you master the programs. I did learn from home without any instructions but you have to be patient. There are other available resources such taking courses from schools or colleges. Good luck Emmanuel Mba
  4. You have to learn how to use "HELP" is a complete reference of MS Office.
  5. To answer your specific question - The site below lists loads of courses from different people. You have to scroll down a bit past the ads until you come to the list. One big decision you need to make is what version to learn. There is a major difference between Office 2003 and Office 2007. My vote would be learn Office 2003 - most companies are not making the switch. You could download a trial version of Office 2007 - dont know if you can download a trial version of excel 2003. or do as someone recommended Open office version 2. This is almost fully compatible with MS Office. (I havent found any problems with it) http://www.educationonlineforcomputers.com/training/Free-Microsoft-Excel-Training/
