what is craigslist? are their jobs on there for real?

I was browsing craigslist, I have never heard of it before, and see they have a job section, but all the listings sound wierd and fishy, do they list legit local jobs??

2. Be careful of Craiglist, especially if you're a young person. There are some very sleazy people on there who may try to take advantage of you. Many so-called modeling, art, or assistant-type jobs are from porn site operators. Look for a job on a respectable website like careerbuilder.com.
3. Craigslist is a legitimate site, but it is also a playground for spammers and phishers. You may be able to find something, but be very cautious about the info you share until you know the company is legit. I strongly recommend setting up a separate email account that you use to respond to any listings, since many of the jobs are just ways for spammers to get your valid email address. And if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Don't be stupid, and never give out your banking or personal information. If they want to pay you be direct deposit, insist on using a paypal account. It will cost you a little in fees, but it they can access you bank account, they can drain it too!
4. Craigslist is a legit job site, but you have so search quite a bit to find a legit job within the site. The really awesome thing about craigslist was that it was how I got my current job as a csr. Good Luck! You will find your dream job if you are determined. That was how I found mine.
